Dear IMPRI Well-wishers,

Greetings!

This week at IMPRI, we continue to bring you grounded, timely insights on pressing domestic and global policy issues. From China’s strategic control over rare-earth elements to the intensifying tensions in West Asia, our latest articles critically examine the geopolitical currents shaping the world today. Closer to home, we assess India’s evolving multilateral role, the green energy transition, and eleven years of policy under the Modi government.

Our Policy Update section features key initiatives such as the Design Linked Incentive Scheme for semiconductors, the PLI for Solar Manufacturing, and legislative developments like the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2025, offering in-depth analysis on India’s policy ecosystem.

We are also pleased to announce two of our upcoming fellowship programs that continue IMPRI’s mission of nurturing policy thinkers and researchers. The Cohort 6 of the Public Policy Qualitative Participatory Action Research Fieldwork Fellowship is now open, offering participants an immersive experience in field-based research, grounded in participatory action and hands-on learning. Alongside, Cohort 3 of the Young Women Leaders in Public Policy Fellowship (YWLPPF) returns to empower aspiring women changemakers to engage with the policy ecosystem through research, mentorship, and publication opportunities.

In a special highlight, on the occasion of the International Day for Women in Diplomacy (June 24), IMPRI proudly released four new books as part of our Feminist Foreign Policy Fellowship initiative. These volumes explore feminist perspectives on diplomacy, global governance, and statecraft from the lens of the Global South, marking a significant contribution to the ongoing global conversation on inclusive foreign policy.

Stay tuned and scroll below for more updates and upcoming engagements at IMPRI!

On the Occassion of International Day for Women in Diplomacy

Together, these publications capture the collective scholarship, lived experiences, and policy visions of fellows, scholars, and practitioners who engaged deeply with feminist foreign policy over the course of the fellowship. The books reflect on key issues such as representation, peacebuilding, digital diplomacy, and the decolonization of international relations, especially through the lens of the Global South.
